New Christian Voices Rules of Conduct

Welcome to New Christian Voices! NCV is committed to promoting freedom of expression, and to maintaining a welcoming, entertaining and safe community for our readers. We welcome all readers. And our members represent a wide variety of Christian traditions or other spiritual orientations. We encourage you to approach encounters with persons whose religious practice or scriptural interpretations differ from your own in a spirit of tolerance.

General Rules of Conduct:

By registering as a member of New Christian Voices, you agree that you will not post content to the site that:

1. is illegal, or advocates illegal acts;
2. compromises another member's privacy by using or revealing personal information;
3. advocates, condones or may provoke violence toward any individual or group;
4. is vulgar or violent or otherwise ;
5. uses New Christian Voices comments or blog posts to harass or censure any person, group, or entity, particularly on the basis of gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, religion, age, disability, or sexual orientation, even if religiously motivated;
6. exploits or endangers a minor, or solicits private communication between a minor and an adult;
7. violates intellectual property rights of others; or
8. may cause or encourage substantial harm or to the reputation of New Christian Voices or its readers and members.

In addition, you agree that you will not permit anyone else to post such content or engage in such activity, on any New Christian Voices pages that you control (your profile, your blog, etc.).

The above rules apply to your content anywhere on the website, including usernames, blogs, article comments, and any other community pages that you have the ability to post content to or edit. We will not censor members for expressing an opinion on issues raised on the site, within the limits of these Rules of Conduct. Yet to maintain a welcoming and entertaining environment, and to ensure that everyone feels free to participate, we cannot permit comments that insult or attack individuals or groups of people. (Express your opinion about an idea or expression, not about the person who wrote it.) Please refrain from writing negative personal remarks about a person's age, gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. New Christian Voices reserves the right, though not the obligation, to delete, edit or move any member-generated content for any reason, without notice.

• Caution: Because New Christian Voices is a public website, and is routinely indexed by Google, Yahoo! and other search engines, members should refrain from revealing any personally identifiable information, including your e-mail address, name, telephone number or location.
• New Christian Voices reserves the right to suspend or terminate any membership for violation of the above rules.
• New Christian Voices does not necessarily endorse nor are we responsible for any opinion, advice, information or statement made or displayed on this website, including those of paid columnists and writers. Nor are we responsible for any errors or omissions in such articles or any blog postings, article comments or hyperlinks embedded therein. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any loss or damage caused by your reliance on information obtained on this website.
