I'm in tears...Adam's my hero, and Jesus is my Saviour...
I am a Christian...and I love Adam Lambert! I believe that God sent Adam TO me...because before Adam, I was in a very bad way, and then when Adam came along...he brought me out of darkness and into light, and made me a STRONGER CHRISTIAN, because I believe God has given me Adam to make me happy.
Alot of people are skeptical of this, but I don't care. I think Adam is highly talented and is a true star. God gave him his talent, grace, humility, human-ness, confidence and love to share with all of us! He is a good guy who does not deserve to be spoken of badly. Do you know how much it means to know that he got bullied all his years of highschool, and how he's confident now...to know that when I grow up, I might be confident too, like him, and not afraid of anyone.
God told me to love and support the sinner, but to hate the sin. I love Adam. He's my star and my hero...but God is my God and my saviour...and I cried when I read your comments.
It hurts me to see the love Adam has savagely destorted in such a way by my own people...sorry.

I am a devout Christian and I know that homosexuality goes against God. God makes that very clear in the Bible and of course common sense tells us it is wrong because we simply are not made that way. Love in meant between a man and woman and I agree with God. In saying that, God is also the one who gave Adam Lambert his gift. Even if he does not believe in God it is obvious that God beleives in him. I am almost 60 years old and I will tell you that his voice is the greatest I have ever heard. He is a talent and should be judged if at all by his music ability when it comes to music and nothing else. He is amazing. I do hope that somehow through prayer however, he turns from his sexual inclinment. I want to see this person and hear that angel voice in heaven. Good luck and God bless you Adam.
Something that you guys will understand
Anyone who thinks Adam Lambert should seek treatment for his "illness" should watch Prayers for Bobby, with Sigourney Weaver. I think you'll find her character is one that alot of you can realistically relate to. It is a true story and shows you the truth about whether you can "cure" homosexuality and why homosexuality really doesn't "need to be cured". Oh and by the way I hope none of you have eaten shellfish lately (the Bible forbids it).

Okay, for ALL of you talking
Okay, for ALL of you talking about how Christians only choose certain parts of the Bible to believe.
ALL of those laws that you say are repulsive and wrong were in the Old Testament. When Jesus died, he put an end to Old Testament law.
Galatians 3:23-25 says "Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law." That pretty much means that when Jesus died, the Old Testament law died with Him.
Now, onto Adam. Make no mistake, Christians, God loves Adam. He loves EVERYBODY.
But he HATES the fact that Adam's homosexual. Homosexuality is a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." Romans 1:26-27 says "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."
Adam is committing a very disgraceful sin in God's eyes. As followers of God, Christians, we do his will.
What does God want us to do? Well first of all, we must LOVE Adam as we love ourselves. Mark 12:31 says "The second is this: 'You must love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than this." But we are to have nothing to do with him. Ephesians 5:11 tells us "Have nothing to do with the unfruitful works that darkness produces. Instead, expose them for what they are."
That is exactly what I am doing. I am not judging Adam, like God tells us not to, I am merely EXPOSING the world of darkness in which Adam is living in. We as Christians are to have NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. God also tells us in Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
Homosexuality and homosexuals are NOT any of those things in Philippians 4:8. Christians, you want to please the Lord, don't you? Well, please, I beg of you, take into heart what I have said to you today. And may God be with you. Peace

Comments like this are proof positive why some Christians have such a bad rap in this country - they seem like narrow minded knuckle dragging bigots. Adam Lambert is the best singer American Idol has ever had. His faith and sexuality have nothing to do with it. If Christians got rid of every gay person in their congregations, they would have no more organists or choir directors.
Real Christians?
People, going to church every day won't make anyone a Christian. Reading the Bible and praying all day long won't make one a Christian just like going to Mac Donald's or eating there everyday doesn't make you a hamburger. But imitating Christ you will become Christ-like which means Christian. Christ loves sinners and took on Himself all the sin of the world so that ANYONE, all the sinners who believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life. He didn't come into this world to condemn the world. The devil condemns, that's his job. Christ died for us when we were yet dead in our sins, and had plans for each one of us when we weren't even born. He's always had us on His mind and heart. We love Him because He first loved us.
A real Christian, a real follower of Christ would never judge anyone. A real Christian is humbled by God's amazing love, grace and forgiveness of his misery and sin, and would never judge anyone because he remembers where he was when God found him. WE ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, there is none good; no, not one.
No one has the right to judge but God, and yet Jesus is God and he is not condemning anyone but calling the whole world to repentance... God calls everyone in His own time in His own terms... not man's... THANK GOD!

This is fascinating . . . I feel as though I am listening to the Jobian counsellors who failed miserably to encourage Job. The essential difference between Christianity and the other world religions lies in the grace of the cross. There is nothing we can do to gain such grace. Yet, as Christians we are forever judging others and forever placing our personal needs over those of the larger micro/macro body of Christ.
Adam Lambert, if you have done the research, may well know the Torah better than most church going Christians.
In my lifetime I have never heard a voice of this quality. As a believer, I do believe there are gifts granted by God to individuals, and I liken Lambert to David, the greatest worshipper according to the Creator. His voice touched my soul ... and that was before I noticed the Hebrew flavour in certain theatrical techniques Adam has intertwined and, in essence, created. It is an amazing gift.
Perhaps we, as Christians, need to inspect our hearts more deeply. Then we may see that there is no difference between the sins of Adam or the sins of the Christian believer pre-sanctification. According to the faith the difference lies here: one group has not accepted Christ's death on the cross, the others have. Interesting that the other contestants voted Adam as the most congenial, caring contestant. How easy it is to judge the clothing, the nails, the hairstyle, the masquara . . . Rather, what is in Adam's heart? and that is not our business for we should be digging into the state of our personal hearts! I'm not editing this on purpose ... straight from the heart. TK

TK, thank you for expressing your hearfelt opinion. I feel the same way... but I get so confused and saddened when I hear Christians saying harsh things about Adam and really putting him down.
I pray for Adam because God loves him so much and his voice/talents are gifts from God. I always try to think what Jesus said: "let those without sin cast the first stone". Even we Christians sin everyday consciously and unconsciously and although we might not be homosexual, that doesn't mean our sins are minor in God's eyes. It's only because of God's grace that we are acceptable to him. It's really humbling to dwell on that. I think Kris Allen understands this and that's how he's struck a great friendship with Adam. We ourselves can't force people to change - only God can change our hearts. We can participate in that great grace by praying for those who we think need our help and taking every opportunity to show the love of Christ to others.

Indeed. Don't wonder why the church isn't growing. I'm not the only one who wouldn't set foot in a place that's become so ugly and distorted that it seems to encourage its fellowship to savagely hate their Brother(s).
I'm guessing JESUS wouldn't "break a man's knees" for appreciating the gift that GOD gave to Adam Lambert.

I'm appalled at the comments I've been reading here and I have to chime in. What in heaven's name does being Jewish have to do with being righteous? And what does being gay have to do with being a good singer? While I don't necessarily love the genre Adam is really best at - rock, classic rock, etc - there's no denying that he's an amazing talent. (Personally, I'm a Kris Allen fan and love Allison.) If you're voting for an American Idol only because of their faith, I suggest that you put the phone down and wait until Kris, Danny, Matt, Scott, Lil, or Michael puts out a Christian album and go buy it.

Adam has a great voice. I will give him that. Is he an idol? Yep, that too. An idol for an unbelieving America who wants nothing to do with God.
No one should be judging, Christian or non-Christian. There will come a day when we all will be judged.
And to those who say they are Christian, what does that mean to you? Does it mean you are willing to face death for believing that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior? Or does it mean you are a good person? Because it is not what it means. Are you willing to be persecuted, ridiculed and scoffed at? Accept Christ, or don't it is your choice. But don't claim to be a Christian if you are a scoffer. And if you aren't a Christian why are you posting on Christian sites what do you expect a Christian to say?

He is a talented singer who will get record deals, he is what he is, an American Idol.

Don't forget adam is jewish as well as being gay. There's nothing wrong with voting to ensure that only righteous people are in the public eye.

Why do Christians think we
Why do Christians think we aren't to judge? We have no place in saying individuals will be with God or in hell after they die, but the Bible does tell us that no homosexual will inherit eternal life. We are to judge RIGHTEOUSLY and with fear, knowing that we will be judged by the same measure with which we judge. If Adam Lambert is gay (and he very likely is), do we really want him to be a role model?

The bible says a ton of ignorant contradictory garbage and that doesn't mean you should believe it. In fact - you don't believe much of it. You pick and choose what to follow - and when you find something that you just can't live with - you come up with a different interpretation on what it "really" means.

Haha wow, I find it funny how even the "Christians" judge people like this. Do we even know if these things are true? Have you heard Adam Lambert say," I AM GAY?" Nope. We sure haven't so we need to stop assuming things, we can only trust a comment if it actually comes from the person. Not the internet. The internet is filled with crud, why believe it anyways? And plus, I know that God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve, but still its a singing competition (and he can sing) not about sexuality. I strongly hope that he is not gay, but if he is that is his choice and I will pray for him. These are the people we should be trying to help not condemn if we are truly Christians. Great comment! I agree with you totally. In fact my family and I started praying for Adam. I'm telling you though, there will be spiritual warfare, so be prepared because you get in the middle of the battle for his soul, and weird things will start happening to disrupt your prayer for him. It's happened to us, too. But don't give up, because greater is He who is in us and on our side than the one who is in the world. And if God is for us who can be against us. And Jesus gave his life so that anyone who believes should not perish but have eternal life. Let's pray for Adam's salvation, because God has wonderfully created him and invested so much of His own beauty and creativity in Adam that should never go to waste but become an instrument of praise and glory to His Name. Pass it on to you church friends, leaders and prayer groups and let's expect a miracle... Our God is an awesome God!

We as Christians give ourselves a bad name when we judge....no wonder the church isn't growing! It's just a turn-off to hear the hateful, critical comments that come from people who love Jesus, never ceases to amaze me.
No Gay Idol
I know Gay's aren't going to hell, but I don't want one for "American Idol." Especially not one like Adam Lambert, who is into drag, s&m, and vulgar internet photos of open mouth tongue kissing other men. That is not the American Idol I want my kids to view and see as Idol material. When Simon gave him a standing ovation, I wanted to break his knees to see him sit down. It's just wrong; If I hear a love song on the radio , I don't want to think it is a man singing to his gay male lover. It's just wrong.
