For those of you not familiar with how I roll: I’ve been a comedian for 25-plus years and been an “opening act” for a variety of performers. Some highlights. ...
My sister-in-law passed away last Thursday, felled by cancer after a seven-year battle. She was a dignified, lovely, inspiring wife and mother who beat the odds over and over again.
Summer in DC means storms, and storms mean power outages. And power outages bring out my worst fear, and it's NOT the dark. ...
The heat was debilitating this summer, so much so that the word “hot” doesn’t do justice to the grades of temperature we've sweated these past few months.
It’s beach week, and so far so good. We bust into our rented beach house and it looks great – the bathrooms are sparkling, the décor is charming, the kitchen is retro. ...

American idol - It's a Kris Allen / Adam Lambert Finale!

No, I'm not psychic, but I called tonight's American Idol results show - well, part of it, anyway. I knew Kris was going through to the finale, but whether he was going to be joined by Adam or Danny? I wavered, up until this afternoon.

And in the end? It's Adam and Kris in the finale, next week on American Idol! And I'm predicting Kris to win.

For Danny Gokey fans, don't worry. Getting voted off can actually be good for a contestant; he can do his own music without the Idol ball and chain dictating his every move. I'm sure there are several labels waiting to scoop him up.

So next week, we'll see performances from Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, unquestionably the two contestants this season who were not just singers, but artists. Different, definitely, but both incredibly talented.

So what else happened on tonight's show? Jordin Sparks sang her new single, "Battlefield," which was I thought was boring but some friends on Twitter thought was great; she looked great, that's for sure. And Katy Perry did a predictibly weird and uninspiring vamp that was inappropriate for an Idol audience. Then again, they've had Flo Rida and Lady Gaga on the show, so why not Katy Perry? After all, Idol is one long commercial for Ford, Coke, and whatever artist happens to be on top of the charts that week.

But enough about that. I want to know what you think about Kris Allen and Adam Lambert in the finale!
